Hi and welcome to my website.
I am Henk Zuurbier, husband, dad, aircraft mechanic, veteran and photographer.
Born and raised Dutch, now a US citizen and live in Clearfield,Utah.
My passion for photography came at a early age of 15 when I started taking
pictures of military airplanes at Soesterberg Airbase or Camp New Amsterdam
(CNA), The Netherlands.
My first camera was a Praktica MTL3 with a 400mm Prime lens.
I used Slides and regular photo film to document these awesome planes.
After graduating high school I became a certified electrician,
few years later I decided to join the Royal Netherlands Air Force.
I was in supply and later I cross trained to aircraft maintenance
spent 10 years at Volkel airbase and I am a two time Bosnia war veteran.
In 2000 I met my wife Debbie, married in 2003 and in May of 2004 I left the
Royal Netherlands Air Force for a new adventure in Utah, USA where
we had family and decided to settle.
I am a proud dad of twin boys Nick and Tyler and we have dogs and a cat.
In 2005 I transferred over from film to digital photography, that was
a game changer on many fronts.
Living in Utah is amazing and the photo opportunities are endless with
all the national parks and wildlife here.
We love to take pictures as a family and we do as many trips with our
travel trailer as possible.
Our favorite places are Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and places down in
Southern Utah.
Aviation Photography is my main interest but Wildlife, landscape and
weather shots are something I will take shots off as well.
My current equipment is the Canon brand.
My wife and I use the R5 mirrorless and
RF 70-200 and 100-500 with 1.4 converter.

Recently one of my pictures received a editors pick during a 2023 aviation photo contest.
Sincerely,
Henk Zuurbier
